ABOUT
Heidi Hamels
Founder - Manager - Songwriter

One of my best childhood memories was with my Great Grandma, Zora. Even though she was blind, the skills required to write poetry books was still there! It was a special gift she possessed and ever since, it stayed with me in a very meaningful way. She would give me her books and showed me how to write poetry and those were the moments when I realized this was something I loved to do. With my great grandmother having already passed by the time I was a teenager, I still clung to the idea that I could become a poet. I started writing poetry and submitting my work into young authors contests and was fortunate enough to win a few of the competitions.
With life getting to be hectic and the reality of bills piling up, it was clear that poetry was not going to allow me to eke out a living. Some twenty years later and still inspired, I picked up a pen again and not only began writing poetry, but turned my written work into music. Shortly afterwards, the floodgates opened and one song after another came pouring out of me.
Thanks to a local piano teacher who took notice of my work, I was introduced to a young, budding artist who would belt out my lyrics to my amazement. This young lady’s name was Sara Spicer and from that moment on, we formed quite the duo. Currently under my label, HH Entertainment, Sara and I have worked tirelessly and as we dove deeper into more songs, we realized many of the songs created were geared towards a male vocal. For this reason, I wanted a strong, country-sounding voice to complement the lyrics and after listening to hundreds of vocals, we came upon Lee Gantt and immediately knew he was it. Also under the HH Entertainment label, Lee recently released his first EP, Ruined This Town, which coincidentally, I co-wrote.
When I began to write songs, I couldn’t envision a path of a full time business complete with studio time, managers, lawyers, trips to Nashville, booking agents, PR companies, distributing companies, and the like…it is a road less traveled for a reason, but I’m loving every second as a writer and watching my two young artists grow and becoming so popular with their amazing voices!
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Heidi Hamels has a deep love of the written word. That trait is something that comes to the Missouri native quite honestly. Her grandmother was a published author of close to twenty books, and she passed her love of poetry down. Along the way, Heidi developed a talent for music, and that has led her down a path that has included architecture and medical school, but writing has always been her first love. In 2018, Hamels is putting her creative zeal to work with the formation of HH Entertainment, and is also announcing the signing of her first two clients, Sara Spicer and Lee Gantt.
